Logitech’s V20 are the largest of all of the speakers that we tested, but their relatively bulky appearance is a bit misleading, as the speakers weigh less than the taller and slimmer XT1s. They will take up slightly more desk and bag space, but they’re attractive enough to show off on your desk. A series of buttons on the right speaker allows the user to control not only the volume, but the playing, pausing, and stopping of tracks. Like the XT1s, the V20s are USB powered, but unlike the Altec Lansing XT1s, the V20s lack an auxiliary output for your iPod or other portable audio player.

What the V20s lack in relative portability, they more than make up in sound quality, producing the fullest and sharpest audio of all of the speakers that we tested. They offer a wider spectrum of lows and highs, and when we hooked the V20s up to a widescreen notebook and popped in our in-house copy of Spider-Man 2, we hardly missed the cheap home theater system in our apartment. If you want to take a set of speakers on the road, the V20s can’t be beat.
