Today T-Mobile added the Samsung Katalyst to its lineup of HotSpot @Home-featured phones. The Samsung Katalyst is the first slider phone to join the @Home ranks, which includes the Blackberry Curve, Samsung t409, and Nokia 6086.

Using T-Mobile's HotSpot @Home service allows customers to make calls via Wi-Fi from home or on the road at T-Mobile hotspots.

The Samsung Katalyst features stereo Bluetooth, a 1.3MP camera, and a music player. However, the Katalyst's most exciting feature is its support for T-Mobile's @Home network, which allows callers to chat with improved call quality inside their homes.

Just slightly fatter than the Samsung SLM, the titanium finished Katalyst measures 3.97 x 1.98 x 0.65 inches—perfect for small hands. The Katalyst is about the size of the Samsung SLM, just slightly fatter. At $79.99, the Katalyst hovers in the middle of T-Mobile's current lineup. It offers more features than the Samsung t409 ($49) clamshell phone, like a microSD slot for music and photos, but far less than the BlackBerry Curve smartphone ($249).

The Samsung Katalyst will be available for purchase in mid-December.

Price: $79.99 w/ 2 year or $199
