Constantly forgetting about appointments because you've, yet again, "stepped away from your desk" to hit the links and shoot the back-nine? Google's got your back, you forgetful CEO, you.

This morning Google launched a new application, that BlackBerry and Google Calendar users will love, called Sync. We gave it a test run and really dig the ease of use and the convenience it will provide to anyone looking to check Google Calendars quickly on the go.

Here's how it works. First direct your BlackBerry browser to mobile.google.com. Then download the Sync application (towards the bottom of the list). The download itself will only take about 40-seconds, and then you're all set to go.

The Google Sync icon will now appear on the BlackBerry desktop. Once you've signed in to your Google account, the application will download your personal calendar to your BlackBerry, and will also provide a summary of new, deleted, or updated events.

The application is perfect for any institution that uses Google Calendars as its backbone for scheduling, because you can view any event or create events from your BlackBerry and upload them on the go. It even carries over the alerts.

The key, of course, is to remember to launch the Sync button. It's easiest to click the options menu in the Calendar application itself, and then choose "Google Sync."
