Hotels.com allows you to search by amenities, but these do not include Internet access. They’re more along the lines of whether a hotel has a fitness center or includes breakfast. Hotels.com did find a room for $167 at the Hotel Belvedere, just a few dollars more than Travelocity’s room at that hotel.

In San Francisco, Hotels.com found one night at the Prescott for $160, another for $200, for an average of $180. This site is very pricedriven. You won’t find out anything about room category or amenities until you burrow into the site, and the lack of reviews means you’re buying blind. Use it when you already know a property, or just need the least expensive pillow for the night.

PROS CONS
• Fast and cheap • Less than informative
• Better suited to families than business
