Good Mobile Messenger 5 Is Actually GreatMotorola's Good Mobile Messenger 5 is chock-full of so many enhancements that even the staunchest BlackBerry loyalist will take notice.by Eric M. Zeman 10/01/2007
Like it or not, mobile e-mail has been the number-one killer application for the last several years. Nothing else comes as close to enhancing productivity (or chaining you to your job) as being able to triage your corporate Inbox while on the go. More than nine million people subscribe to Research In Motion's BlackBerry service, but many other players are looking to make a buck in the enterprise mobile e-mail market. Among them is Good Technology, now part of Motorola. It recently upped the ante in the mobile e-mail game with the release of Good Mobile Messenger 5 (GMM 5). GMM 5, which runs on Windows Mobile devices, has made major strides in improving the usability and manageability of mobile e-mail with a two-pronged approach. "We wanted to make the experience more personal and make interacting with the device more natural, while also improving security and management for IT," said Dan Rudolph, director of product management at Motorola's Good Technology Group. But is Good's new offering good enough?
