Love them or hate them, Bluetooth headsets are on the rise. They may not add much to your fashion ensemble, but if you're hooked on wireless, you want the best. And if you've been using a Bluetooth headset for a while, you know that even though you might hear callers just fine, the person on the other end of the line often can't hear you--especially when you're outdoors on a windy day. The Aliph Jawbone Bluetooth Headset, with its Noise Shield technology, and the Plantronics Discovery 665, with its AudioIQ, are both in the race to shatter the poor reputation wireless headsets have earned. They claim to improve the listening experience for both parties of a call by singling out the voice of the caller and muting everything else.

We took the Jawbone Bluetooth Headset (available exclusively through Cingular and jawbone.com) and Plantronics' Discovery 665 to the streets--and even stood in front of a noisy fan--to sort out which new headset should be growing out of your ear.
